In our Meet the Team series, today we’re introducing Ion Toma, one of our dedicated ServiceNow Developers at Devhd.
From Finance and Banking to ServiceNow
Curiosity has shaped many of the choices in Ion’s professional journey. With an academic background in Finance and Banking, he originally followed a very different path before deciding to pursue his interest in technology and software development. Through self-directed learning, persistence and a willingness to reinvent himself, he successfully transitioned into IT and built his career as a ServiceNow Developer.
During his studies, Ion also spent a semester at the University of Konstanz in Germany, an experience that gave him the opportunity to explore a different academic environment and broaden his perspective, both professionally and personally.
At Devhd, Ion develops and enhances ServiceNow solutions within our ServiceNow practice, builds automations and investigates technical issues. His experience has taken him across IT Service Management, Workplace Service Delivery and different areas of the Now Platform, from Service Catalog and Flow Designer to Service Portal, Employee Center, integrations and custom applications. He particularly enjoys the opportunity to understand how things work, solve complex problems and see the practical impact of the solutions he helps deliver.
Ion is known for his meticulous approach to his work. He takes the time to examine details carefully, asks questions when something is unclear and prefers to understand a problem thoroughly before deciding how to solve it.

What sets Ion apart is his willingness to challenge and reinvent himself. Whether that means changing careers, learning a new technology or exploring an unfamiliar subject, he genuinely enjoys expanding his knowledge and improving the way he works.
His transition from banking to software development also taught him that asking questions is a strength and that persistence matters when facing a difficult challenge. He values collaboration and knowledge sharing and appreciates being part of a team where colleagues exchange ideas, support one another and work together to find the right solution.
Beyond ServiceNow
Outside of work, Ion enjoys staying active through gym sessions, hiking and long walks. His curiosity also leads him to read about statistics, economics and political science, explore AI and new technologies and experiment with small side projects. When he wants to relax, he enjoys listening to music and spending time with friends.
